Donate to Help Pay Fees for Someone to Acquire Vocational Skills
Not everyone can afford higher education, but everyone deserves a chance to build a better life. Through PASDO’s Vocational Skill Sponsorship program, you can empower unemployed youth and adults with practical, income-generating skills. With just $750, you can sponsor a beneficiary through 1.5 years of hands-on vocational training. You may also donate any amount toward this goal — every dollar helps equip someone for self-reliance.
Whether it’s tailoring, carpentry, electrical work, digital skills, or food processing, your donation is an investment in dignity, purpose, and lifelong sustainability.
Why Support for Vocational Skills Matters
In many underserved communities, unemployment is high, especially among young people who lack access to university education or training opportunities. Without skills, they are trapped in poverty, vulnerable to exploitation, and often feel hopeless about the future.
Vocational training changes that. It equips individuals with practical abilities to start a trade, gain employment, or run small businesses. The ripple effect is powerful: increased income, improved family welfare, and stronger local economies.
When you sponsor vocational training, you’re not giving a temporary fix — you’re offering a long-term solution.
How Donation For Vocational Skill Works
Your donation goes directly into sponsoring individuals who are ready and eager to learn a trade. Here’s how it works:
Sponsor one person fully: With $750, you can sponsor the full cost of vocational training for one beneficiary over 1.5 years, covering tuition, materials, uniforms, and startup support.
Contribute partially: You may also donate any amount toward vocational sponsorship. Once the full amount is reached, a new trainee begins.
Support a skill center: Larger or custom donations can also go toward tools, equipment, or expanding access at our vocational training hubs.
We work closely with local vocational institutes and training partners to ensure quality instruction, mentorship, and measurable outcomes. Trainees are selected based on need, commitment, and potential for impact.
How We Prioritize the Use of Your Donations
At PASDO, we are committed to making every donation count — especially for those who need help the most.
While our vocational skill acquisition program is open to everyone who is in need, we give special priority to:
People who are affected by climate change, through our Vocational Education for Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (VECADA) initiative. Whether it’s drought, flooding, gully erosion or crop failure, we direct support to those whose ability to provide for themselves has been disrupted by climate-related crises.
Internally displaced persons and people affected by forced migration, as part of our Migration and Internally Displaced Persons Support Program. These individuals often face disruption of their livelihoods, and are at risk of being overlooked.
The most vulnerable groups, including persons with physical disabilities — people who face disproportionate challenges in the labour market.
By prioritizing these groups, we ensure that your donation has the deepest impact.
Our Commitment to Integrity and Accountability
At PASDO, we are committed to the judicious use of every single donation we receive.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency, stewardship, and responsibility, as demonstrated in our Donation Terms and Conditions
Your trust is important to us — and we are honored to turn your generosity into real, lasting impact.

Frequently Asked Questions
What trades or skills are taught in the vocational program?
Training may include tailoring, carpentry, electrical work, hairstyling, baking, shoemaking, computer and digital literacy, and other locally relevant skills.
Who is eligible to receive training through my donation?
We focus on individuals from low-income backgrounds who have no access to higher education but demonstrate motivation to learn and earn. Even amongst them, we prioritize those who have been affected by climate change, forced migration or are classified as vulnerable.
Can I sponsor someone fully?
Yes. A full sponsorship costs $750 and supports one person for 1.5 years of vocational training.
Can I donate a smaller amount?
Absolutely. All partial donations are pooled and allocated as soon as a full sponsorship can be funded.
What if I want to make a monthly commitment instead of donating only once?
That’s a wonderful idea!
You can choose a recurring donation option when filling out the donation form.
How do you select training centers and courses?
We partner with certified local training centers and programs with a strong track record of success and employability outcomes.
Will I receive updates about the person I sponsored?
Absolutely. When you fully sponsor someone’s vocational training, we keep you updated on their progress through reports and, when possible, direct messages of appreciation such as thank-you letters or short video testimonials. These updates give you a chance to witness the transformation your donation is making in someone’s life and future career.
What happens after the training ends?
Graduates may receive toolkits, small grants, or referrals to job placement services, depending on available funding and partnerships.
Is vocational training better than giving cash directly?
In most cases, vocational training provides sustainable value that far outlasts a one-time cash gift. It builds long-term earning capacity and resilience.
What countries do you accept donations from?
We accept donations from all countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and all countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. If you’re unable to use the donation form to send in your donation, feel free to contact us to explain your situation and request for an alternative means.
Do you accept bank transfers, debit card, or cryptocurrency?
Yes, we accept a variety of payment methods, including debit/credit cards, bank transfers, and (in some cases) cryptocurrency. Full details are available on our donation checkout page.
Do I get any acknowledgement, such as a Donor Certificate, after I donate?
Yes. After your donation, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email and/or a Donor Certificate you can keep, print, or share as a symbol of your generosity.
