How We Prioritize the Use of Your Donations

At PASDO, we are committed to making every donation count — especially for those who need help the most.

While our access to justice program is open to everyone who is in need, we give special priority to:

  • People who are affected by climate change. Whether it’s drought, flooding, gully erosion or crop failure, we direct support to those whose ability to provide for themselves has been disrupted by climate-related crises.

  • Internally displaced persons and people affected by forced migration, as part of our Migration and Internally Displaced Persons Support Program. These individuals often face disruption of their livelihoods, and are at risk of being overlooked.

  • The most vulnerable groups, including persons with physical disabilities — people who face disproportionate challenges.

By prioritizing these groups, we ensure that your donation has the deepest impact.

Will I be informed about the outcome of the case I supported?

Yes. If your donation covers the full cost of legal representation for an individual, we will provide updates on the case outcome and, where appropriate, share a message or letter of appreciation from the beneficiary. Legal cases can be sensitive, so we ensure any updates maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical guidelines while still keeping you connected to the impact of your support.

Yes. Part of our legal aid efforts includes outreach programs, paralegal services, and public education to prevent future injustices.

Are lawyers paid, or do they work pro bono?

We work with a mix of volunteer and paid legal professionals. Donations help cover filing fees, transportation, and essential case-related costs even when lawyers volunteer their time.

What countries do you accept donations from?

We accept donations from all countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and all countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. If you’re unable to use the donation form to send in your donation, feel free to contact us to explain your situation and request for an alternative means.

Do you accept bank transfers, debit card, or cryptocurrency?

Do I get any acknowledgement, such as a Donor Certificate, after I donate?

Yes. After your donation, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email and/or a Donor Certificate you can keep, print, or share as a symbol of your generosity.
